Planning permission secured for Thornton Road in Croydon with MTVH

We are pleased to announce Skillcrown has successfully secured a new build contract with Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) to deliver 24 apartments on Thornton Road in Croydon.

Skillcrown has been working with Croydon Council since late 2017 to design a scheme that is in keeping and sympathetic to the local area. Once we were in agreement with the Council regarding design and density, planning permission was granted under delegated powers of the London Borough of Croydon.

Once the Section 106 legal agreement was finalised, Skillcrown facilitated a package deal with MTVH to deliver 24 apartments for London Affordable Rent. The project will be located on the previous Cambridge Autos dealership and the proposals are for the erection of a part 3, part 4 storey building with ancillary on-site car and cycle parking spaces and refuse and recycling. A car club scheme will also be available where tenants of the new development will have membership.

Located on a popular residential area road, future residents will benefit from West Croydon station just 1 mile away with frequent service into the City. Additionally, the development provides access to excellent amenities including schools, shopping facilities, bars and restaurants.

Kevin Clark, Land & Business Development Director at Skillcrown comments, “I was delighted to be granted planning permission by the London Borough of Croydon under delegated powers and were as delighted to have secured this build project with MTVH. We’re looking forward to delivering this London Affordable Rent scheme in this borough.
